Carisa Acker

Carisa Acker is an attorney with compassion. She understands that when you need an attorney, you are facing extremely difficult situations, and you are at a crossroad in your life. She takes the time to listen and to understand what you are going through, and she does her best to address your specific and individual needs.  Everyone who walks into her office is a person and not just another case.

She addresses each case in a holistic manner taking into account the real life consequences that come with them. Ms. Acker is licensed to practice in all Colorado courts as well as Federal District Court, and her practice extends throughout the Western slope including Grand Junction, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Meeker, Rangely, Delta, and Montrose.

Ms. Acker graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law while her husband was deployed to Iraq. During her time at University of Wyoming Ms. Acker worked with people with disabilities and advocated for their rights inside the University system. She assisted in writing legislation for the Wyoming legislature and appeared on a number of panels discussing the important issues addressing the state. Ms. Acker worked as a student attorney in the District Attorney's Office in Cheyenne Wyoming and successfully argued a case in front of the Wyoming Supreme Court.

Ms. Acker and her husband knew from the start that they wanted to live in Grand Junction, and once he returned from his tour of duty, they made the move to Colorado. Ms. Acker initially worked as a District Attorney in Rifle and Meeker where she was responsible for the prosecution of a myriad of cases and became familiar with the courts and the people who work there. Ms. Acker has been working as a private attorney since 2006.
